What's an effective opener when approaching a woman on the
street who is already 'moving' (either in the opposite direction
you're going, or she is about to walk by you as you're standing
somewhere)?
I want to look at the actual importance of an opening; the
question being: is it the most important part of pick up or maybe
the least?
I usually go with the latter statement but I also accept that in
some situations the "opener" can be more of a major factor than
in other circumstances.
However, I stick by my opinion that it is never beneficial when
one is putting too much energy and emphasis into a fixed a
routine, or getting hung up too much on that killer opener.
We prefer to do it in queues rather than lifts, hairdressers do it best and nearly half of us are it more than twice a week – it seems Brits can’t get enough of small talk.
Research by Chit Chat Bingo paints a vivid picture of Britain’s conversational habits with Belfast topping the loose lips league (see league table below) – and more than 15 per cent of us finding romance from conversations with strangers.
