The possible reason could be that giving you her number was a trouble-free exit. For women, that exit is over and over again found by being polite. It was much simpler for her to play polite and give you her number rather than shaking her head and saying: “Sorry, I’m not interested.” We identify it sounds weird, but offering you her number was a get-out-of-the-awkward-situation-free card.
