The TOP Weight Loss Myths

But to start off, you need to break some of the lies circulating around and know the actual truth. That's your starting point. In fact, most of the thought-provoking ideas that your friend Jimmy told you are not only stupid but also baseless... They are just HYPE and nothing else. Find out what are those.

Okay, so let's get, set and go.

Myth-buster 1You cannot shed fat FROM SPECIFIC AREAS of your body. That's impossible. You don't decide where to slough off fat from but your body decides so. "Do only the abdomen if you want six packs but you don't have to do the arms". It's so WRONG! You have to work your whole body out to have uniform weight loss, giving you the perfect shape.

Myth-buster 2: Okay, let's take on the fad diets now. Fad diets work your feeding habits but they don't work your weight. Most of them tell you what to eat, how to eat and when to eat. Don't eat that... don't drink those! Gosh! It's so depressing, disgusting, stupid and unreasonable! Well, that's how I feel and the rest of the medical community feels. They have to say that eating only HEALTHY FRESH FOOD in SMALLER AMOUNTS will do the trick. Don't make weight loss rocket science! Just focus on the results.

Myth-buster 3Resistance training DOESN'T bulk you up. It takes more than that. You got to take in a lot of protein, work out a lot (A LOT in fact) and possess bulk of testosterone hormone in your blood to aid you in the muscle-building process. A rigorous thing to bring about, that is!

Myth-buster 4Crash diets don't work for a permanent weight loss. Most of the crash fat-loss diets are meant to lose weight QUICK fat loss, ON A TEMPORARY BASIS. They stop the supply of external resources (including some very important nutrients) to the body for some time and that makes the body use its internal resources, aiding the slimming process. But once the body starts to think that it is experiencing a starvation period, it slows down its metabolism and thus, the whole physiological functions slow down, and lack of nutrients can cause negative effects on your health as well. That's a bad news for you.

Myth-buster 5You can eat whatever you want and still LOSE WEIGHT. You should learn how to eat. Unlike as crash diets champion that you have to cut off everything and survive on a peculiar juice all day, you can eat your favorite foods yet keep losing weight. Some fats are good while some are bad. Optimum amount of carbohydrates is what you need. Salad bars are not always healthy and diet sodas don't help in your fat loss regime.

Myth-buster 6Eating after 6pm or 8pm doesn't really matter. It's not when you eat, but what you eat and how you eat that matters. Remember, even if you eat very less calories all day, then also lack of exercise will make your body store fat and thus, making you ever fatter. So, a complete balance of food, exercise and rest is what you need. A complete lifestyle!

Myth-buster 7A pill cannot make you think in 30 days or whatever time it purports. There's no substitute to regular exercise and healthy diet. And who knows these pills that you take might have serious side effects later on? So, why do you not go the natural way? It is harder but safer.

Myth buster 8Cardiovascular exercises are NOT the best in weight loss training programmes. Yes, running, jogging or cycling should be included as a part of the fitness training programs. But, when it comes to fat loss, resistance-training exercises are the BEST. They help in toning your muscles, burning off the fat, strengthening your heart functions, and improving your overall health. Way to go!

Myth-buster 9You don't have to join gym for losing weight. Just a half an hour of moderate exercise coupled with a great diet is all you need. "Just move your body" as per registered nutrition and dietitian expert, Rick Hall.

Myth-buster 10Vegetarian diet does help in fat loss. Medical surveys and researches remonstrate how vegetarians have low body weight to their height, compared to the non-vegetarians. They tend to eat less and eat healthy. But still, being careful about your daily diet is of utmost importance, because a vegetarian missing in essential nutrients is not going to help you in your fat loss program but sure is going to make you weak.
